Anissa Marie Collective
Hi, I’m Anissa.
I believe true beauty is spontaneous, unexpected and often born out of chaos. It’s the rush of feeling your way through the dark, and it’s this uncertain excitement I seek every time my brush meets the paint.
I am a canvas and furniture artist, and owner of Anissa Marie Collective. More importantly, I’m a firestarter, rubbing sticks together until I see a spark that gives hope to the exhausted. As a mom of four boys, I know a lot about exhaustion – but even more about the depth of strength we possess as women. Inside my home studio in Spring Hill, Kansas, I paint powerful women, onery children and four-legged companions, often using my signature sunset colors and inspiration from life’s complications.
My journey as an artist has taken me down gravel roads full of potholes and spectacular views. I started painting furniture to escape a degree I didn’t want, the never-ending stress of motherhood, and tangled relationships. When I needed artwork to showcase my furniture pieces, I pulled out a canvas and created my own.
Today, I’m proud to be a local, women-owned business with my hands in as many colorful cookie jars as possible. Check out my Bubblegum Yum line of modern, unexpected artisan transfer prints, or my collaboration with Daydream Apothecary, a women-owned artisan chalk paint company. I worked with their founders to develop a line of gorgeous neon paint – try them once and you’ll be obsessed.
I still make time to teach and connect with up-and-coming artists through my membership group and corresponding tutorials. The Anissa Marie Collective brand has grown from a few pieces of furniture to a thriving, multi-layered business that empowers me to dream bigger and inspire other women to do the same.
I paint the faceless, the voiceless, and the broken – not with sadness, but with celebration. Art is a party, and the best parties get a little out of hand. Let’s get messy.
